Trauma

A fracture is a crack or break in a bone. Fractures may range in size and severity, as well as in the treatment needed. Although most fractures are caused by trauma such as falls, accidents and injuries, some health conditions like osteoporosis can weaken parts of the skeleton so that breaks can occur more easily.

Treatment of fractures will depend on the type of fracture and location and can range from mild restrictions on activity to casts or surgery.

Dr Horsley specialises in the treatment of fractures and soft tissue injuries to the lower limb.
