Diabetic Foot

Patients with diabetes can have complex problems with their feet relating to a peripheral neuropathy (nerve damage causing numbness), circulation problems, and Charcot arthropathy ( a condition where bones can break, often without a recognised injury).

Treatment of the diabetic foot requires a multidisciplinary approach with specialised podiatrists, endocrinologists, vascular surgeons and orthopaedic surgeons.

Dr Horsley is closely affiliated with the High Risk Diabetic Foot Clinic at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Through the clinic Dr Horsley provides surgical management of chronic foot ulcers and Charcot arthropathy.
